plaid top (on sale!)| denim | booties | hat | bag
This is my favorite plaid top ever! It is so soft and has the cutest ruffle on the back. I loved these fall colors (plus Bears colors!). It also comes in a red plaid and an ivory. Size down it runs really big.
We had a fun Halloween weekend although it was cold and rainy! Isla was a Flamingo and we went to a Halloween breakfast at the Morton Arboretum. She hated the men dressed up as characters (the Ninja Turtle was especially traumatizing). We got to head downtown that evening for a friend’s party which was fun too!
Hope everyone had an enjoyable weekend!
She went from loving/hugging Ana and Elsa one second to wanting me the next. Typical, haha

Who says you can’t wear white after Labor Day? Winter white and pastels are going to be huge this season so I’m sure we will be seeing a lot of it all over! This is an easy way to mix up some basic pieces in your wardrobe!
Happy Friday! Hope everyone has a safe and fun Halloween! You’ll have to wait to see what Isla and I will be til next week. You’ll get a sneak peak if you follow me Instagram! Happy Halloween!
plaid shirt dress (also comes in blue) || OTK boots (perfect heel height!) || studded tote || belt || sunnies real version & my dupes || watch || spike pearl cuff || stretch bracelet (reversible)|| earrings (can’t stop wearing these!)
Pretty sure I’ll be in this dress all the time until the temps really start to drop. I love that it has a fall vibe with the wine color & plaid (I told you I was obsessed!) but is still comfortable for those in between days because of the short sleeves. It’s also great because it’s a bit longer in the front and definitely longer in the back. This is great when you’re chasing a toddler around for more coverage! This bag has pretty much become my new diaper bag. I just love it so much! I was sick of toting around a big heavy diaper bag and never using half the junk in it. I’m trying a simpler approach and so far really like it. I just keep the essentials in it, a few diapers, travel pack of wipes, snacks, a pacifier, a small toy, a bow/clip for Isla’s hair and that’s pretty much it! I love this bag because of the price point, color, and size. It is the perfect size tote! Not too big or small.
I hope everyone had a nice weekend! Thanks for reading!

I love Isla exploring in the background of the last photo. We let her walk around the patio in her little explorer “go kart” as Kevin calls it while we took these photos. She absolutely loves being outside, there is just so much to look at. I could not be happier that Spring is here! There are a few tiny little snow piles left around town but am SO glad our yard is snow free! I can’t wait to see everything come back to life!
Oh I have to tell you about these sunglasses, another knock off pair of Karen Walkers from Amazon. $10 and I think they are so cute! Not the most amazing quality ever but really good for the price. Target sunglasses aren’t even $10!
This is one of those typical standard outfits for me. Blouse, skinny jeans, wedges, a fun purse. I hope this is the last time for a while I wear boots! I wore this look to my uncle’s Retirement party on Friday. I had so much fun with my cousins Kristen & Emily, I swear we laughed all night. Family is everything.
You might have noticed I finally got my hair done, which was MUCH overdue. I go to Christina at Velvet Roar in Woodridge. If you are looking for someone in the Naperville area, I highly recommend Christina or Wendy. They are both so amazing. Christina has been doing my hair for 10 years now, she did my hair for my wedding & I wouldn’t go to anyone else. Not to mention their salon is gorgeous & you will want to be their BFF. Click here to visit their Facebook page.
I also celebrated my 26th birthday on Saturday. It was also Pi Day, 3.14.15 which has been fun to celebrate throughout the years. I can’t believe how special all my family and friends made me feel. So many people went out of their way to wish me a happy birthday & I was absolutely spoiled by my family! I definitely felt the love. I can’t believe I am 26. It just feels weird. I swear I just turned 21, but alas that is life, it goes by much too quickly. This year I am going to try and enjoy every moment and opportunity I am given because it seems the next goes faster than the last.
Sorry this post was kinda rambly and all over the place, I hope this finds you all with something to smile about today. 🙂
denim (under $25!) | pink top | coat | boots | bag | earrings | necklace | watch | sunglasses (less than $10) | lipstick (in “darling”) | gloss on top (in “watermelon crush”)
To say I’m obsessed with this outfit is an understatement. It’s so simple but I’m loving the bright pop of fuchsia against the pure white snow! All the pieces of this look are so affordable. The top AND jeans are both less than $25! I love these jeans for a little more dressed up version of my other favorite distressed skinnies. They are very skinny, but I like that look when I wear heeled boots and dress up a little bit. They also have just the right amount of distressing. If you have had your eye on this coat I wear in a lot of my posts now is the time to snatch it up! It’s currently on sale for 45% off! Use code SALE25 at checkout and get an EXTRA 25% off, yes that means this coat will then be 70% off! Craziness! It is so cute, warm, great quality, and just the right amount of dressy. I seriously love it. It also comes in all black, if the grey/black isn’t your thing. Oh and these gorg earrings are on sale for $15 plus free shipping! Woohoo!
Hope this outfit brightened up your Monday!
Me thinking, “omg it’s so cold, I wish I was on a beach somewhere!”
It was so windy! My hair was going everywhere!

We took these photos on one of the coldest & windiest days ever! That’s why my hair is all over the place… not cute, haha. This is an easy fun look with closet staples. A chambray shirt, black skinnies, belt & statement necklace. Because it’s so cold I threw on my Olivia Pope coat. As stores are starting to bring out all their spring merchandise you can start to find some great deals on winter necessities. Getting a winter coat on sale is always great, look for other seasonal items that are usually pricier too, like riding boots. Now is the time to get them on major sale! I know it’s hard for me to justify for myself to spend money on something that I can’t use immediately in the coming season, but you will thank yourself in the fall for scoring that great deal now! Almost all of the women’s coats at Nordstrom are marked down right now. There are some really cute Olivia Pope-esque ones too! Click here to check them out.
I hope everyone had a great weekend! Thanks for stopping by! 🙂
dress (old, similar) || vest (old, similar) || boots (old, similar) || earrings || necklace
A shirt dress is a great staple for every girl’s closet. Especially in a classic color like white or blue. It can be dressed up or down, making it work for spring, fall, & winter. Depending on the season you can accessorize accordingly. I decided to pair it here with a faux fur vest and riding boots for a warm yet casual look. I love this faux fur vest and although it is old and no longer available I linked one that is very similar & a great price!
I am SO looking forward to spring! If you haven’t noticed recently I have been focusing a ton on transitional pieces of clothing that will work now layered up and into some warmer weather alone. I miss taking walks and enjoying the sunshine! I love where we live but sometimes wish we could have nice weather all year round. If California could just give us their weather here, that’d be great!
Thanks for stopping by!
