A little bit of Christmas…

So I failed to take a lot of photos on Christmas with my good camera. I did get a few though and some on my iphone. The Sunday before Christmas Isla and her cousin Teddy met Santa! It was so cute. I thought she would be terrified but she did pretty well!

I also hosted a Christmas brunch for some of my old co-workers, which was a lot of fun. Unfortunately I didn’t get any photos of the food, too many mimosas maybe.

Each guest’s place setting had a mug and homemade hot cocoa mix as my little Christmas gift to them. The mugs are here, homemade hot cocoa mix recipe here. I made baked french toast and an egg strata, the baked french toast is always so good I’ve made it many times before. Find that recipe here.

I’m sad we didn’t get photos of Isla and her cousin Teddy. He had the flu, poor thing felt awful. We were nervous Isla might catch it right before we leave for Hawaii, so they didn’t really get to interact on Christmas day ūüė¶

Overall we had a wonderful Christmas. I hope your Christmas was blessed and filled with love and family!

Cyber Monday!

I know everyone loses it over Black Friday shopping but honestly I like Cyber Monday better! I am an online shopper at heart. It started last year when I did ALL my Christmas shopping online. I was pregnant and tired and didn’t feel like going to the mall. It was such a great decision. Shopping at retailers like Nordstrom, who have free shipping and returns all the time, make it a no brainer. Now that I’m a mom I do still like to get out to do some shopping, but now that those shopping trips have to be done around nap and feeding schedules, it becomes a lot more cumbersome. Online shopping is still my go to. So that’s why today is my holy grail!! Yay for awesome online deals! Here are some of the absolute best!

Amazon! Still one of my favorite places to shop. For Cyber Monday they have new deals every 10 minutes, fabulous savings on HD tvs and other electronics, fashion apparel like Cole Haan, kitchenware products, and kids toys and games!

Target! I love Target so so much. They have everything you need and I always find something I love but definitely don’t need there.

Etsy, the place to buy all things handmade. This is where¬†you want to shop if you’re searching for that special one of a kind gift. Even if you can’t find something you’re looking for tons of shops will take custom orders to make exactly what you want. I have spent SO much money on Etsy. And loved everything. Definitely check out the shops reviews too. Check out my sister’s Etsy shop, Ali Art, for cute invitations and other digital paper goods! You can see the adorable baby shower invites and games she designed for my shower she hosted.

Happy Shopping everyone! May you score great deals this Cyber Monday!

Holiday Gift Guide- For the Kids + A GIVEAWAY!!

Today I’m bringing you part 1 of a series of posts I will be doing on Holiday gifts! We’re going to start with the kids because Christmas gifts are really all for the kids and there is nothing like watching the excitement of a child opening presents on Christmas morning! Here are some awesome gifts for kids anywhere from 6 months – 6 years.

OB-Gift guide for kids DONE

1  (6 months+)    2  (9 months+)   3  (3 years+)   4 (2 years+)   5 (1 year+)    6 (3 years+)    7 (6 years +)   8 (18 months+)    9  (2 years +)    10  (5 years+)

I tried to include a big range of toys that would appeal to little babies as well as kids a bit older. Some of these, in my opinion, can be used with kids a little younger or older than the recommended age. Use your best judgement. I also tried to keep everything gender neutral. That way everyone will want to play with it, and any future kids regardless of their gender will enjoy them.

Now onto MOASM’s first ever GIVEAWAY! I’m super excited about this! This giveaway is brought to you by Brick Loot. A brand new Chicago based company that delivers brick and Lego type toys to your door each month through it’s subscription service. It was created by a 9 year old boy who loves Lego’s and brick building toys! How cool is that? Boxes start as low as $23 a month. To learn more about the company visit Brick Loot’s website, here.
