Our new family room..

Let’s remember what the room looked like before…

big bold patterned rug and apple green chairs

And now the after..

Grey sectional | Rug | Chairs | Ottoman | Gold tray

Soft teals, creams, greys, and mixed metals. I love our new family room so much! This was the one space that I felt didn’t really “go” with the rest of our house. All the other rooms are calming greys and blues while before this was bold and bright. I absolutely love being in our family room now and this is where we spend the majority of our day when inside.

I’m still looking for a tall skinny table lamp for the smaller of the 2 end tables next to the couch. I’ve linked as much as I can! The pillows are from Homegoods, Target, & Gordman’s. The side tables, large gold mirror & faux flower arrangements are from Homegoods. The other little trinkets and accessories are either Homegoods or family pieces.

I hope you like how this room turned out!

Redecorating the family room

So as I let you in on yesterday I have decided to do a little redecorating in our family room. I kind of bought the rug & chairs on a whim because we needed furniture (we had none when we finished all the renos) & I liked the colors at the time. I still do but my style has changed a bit since then. I recently bought a new ottoman for the basement but decided I like it better upstairs so will be putting the current coffee table from the family room in the basement. I got a new rug & 2 new chairs. I’m excited to see how a few things change the space. I also want to get a little side table for that spot next to the couch where the blanket is on the floor.

This is what the room looks like right now.

minus the big baby toys

I still love our gray sectional. I did a lot of research on it & it has held up extremely well.

Here is an idea of what the room will look like…

OB-family room

Our couch is here, chairs here, rug here (AMAZING deal), ottoman here.

I plan on adding some different textures and colors in the pillows, I have my eye on a few different ones. I will also need to find some new small touches to go with the new room. I hope it turns out like I’m hoping!

Let me know what you think of the new design! Thanks for stopping by!

Home Tour- Part 2

Here we go onto the second half of our home tour! If you missed Part 1, click here. Now we’re going to head upstairs.

The monogram is from here it is the 24″ I got it unfinished, painted it black

then glued it, using E6000 glue, onto a big canvas from Jo Ann Fabric

Definitely need to add to that gallery wall

Duvet from Bed Bath and Beyond, vintage dresser from a shop in Naperville, accessories are Home Goods

Painting I made last year still needing to be hung.

Shower curtain from Anthropologie

The door at the end of the hallway on the left is Isla’s nursery

Curtain panels here (unbelievable price point and the perfect shade of pink)

Crib here (again ridiculously good price)

Rug here

Wallpaper here

Monogram here (18″ came unfinished I used Martha Stuart gold acrylic paint to paint it)

lamb play mat here

Gold pouf here

Bookshelves are the spice racks from Ikea painted the same gold as the monogram

I want to find some art for that wall next to the bed

Now onto our basement, which we finished in January this year. This is still a large work in progress as it’s simply

used for storage right now. We are getting our couch delivered soon so I can’t wait to start decorating down here!

To the left of the stairs, which will eventually be a playroom

To the right will be a tv room

My crafting desk

We added a full bath down here for guests

And a bedroom

That’s it! Now you’ve seen the whole house. Can’t wait to update when the basement is finished and decorated. Let me know what you think! Thanks so much for reading!

Home Tour, part 1

I hope y’all had a fabulous and relaxing Thanksgiving weekend! If you followed along with my other (very neglected) blog, Home on Garden Ct, you have seen some of the transformation of our home. The last time I updated there the decor wasn’t ‘done’. And it’s not done now. Is it ever really done? I still have some things to hang on the walls and other little odds and ends to finish up. Today I’m sharing with you the first floor of our house as it is today. It feels much more like home now. We haven’t put up our Christmas decorations yet, but I’m itching to!

We added this little hallway mudroom on after the reno was complete.

If we hadn’t, our garage walked right into the family room, which we didn’t like. We needed a catchall.

Black bench here

I want to add a long horizontal mirror to the opposite wall.

My blanket scarf here

This is the view from the mudroom off the garage

Similar green chairs here I actually like these ones better!

Keeping it real with all the toys haha.

Mirrors and pillows from Homegoods

Gray couch is the Henry sectional from West Elm

A simpler navy rug I like a lot more than mine here

Table and chairs from World Market

White and gray stools here

Blue chair here (comes in a set of 2)

Sorry the lighting is so dark in this one

Love that wine fridge! And I love wine!

All our appliances are frigidaire.

The door on the right goes to our basement.

View of dining room from the front door entry. I have a cool map print I’ve been meaning to frame and put above the buffet for 2 years now! Rue photobombing.

Dining room rug here

Mirrored buffet here

Lamps from Hobby Lobby

Dining room chairs here they are soo comfortable!

Table from Restoration Hardware

Ugh I hate that ugly mat, needs to be replaced ASAP!

Little hallway to first floor powder room. I need to add some art in there.

View of family room from front door entry. Canvas print of Isla from Costco. Costco has AMAZING prices on photo prints!

There you have our first floor. I truly love our home. Next up will be our second floor, then the basement!  More to come soon, I hope you enjoyed this post. Any other specific questions please leave me a comment, or just say hi, I love getting comments! 🙂

Cyber Monday!

I know everyone loses it over Black Friday shopping but honestly I like Cyber Monday better! I am an online shopper at heart. It started last year when I did ALL my Christmas shopping online. I was pregnant and tired and didn’t feel like going to the mall. It was such a great decision. Shopping at retailers like Nordstrom, who have free shipping and returns all the time, make it a no brainer. Now that I’m a mom I do still like to get out to do some shopping, but now that those shopping trips have to be done around nap and feeding schedules, it becomes a lot more cumbersome. Online shopping is still my go to. So that’s why today is my holy grail!! Yay for awesome online deals! Here are some of the absolute best!

Amazon! Still one of my favorite places to shop. For Cyber Monday they have new deals every 10 minutes, fabulous savings on HD tvs and other electronics, fashion apparel like Cole Haan, kitchenware products, and kids toys and games!

Target! I love Target so so much. They have everything you need and I always find something I love but definitely don’t need there.

Etsy, the place to buy all things handmade. This is where you want to shop if you’re searching for that special one of a kind gift. Even if you can’t find something you’re looking for tons of shops will take custom orders to make exactly what you want. I have spent SO much money on Etsy. And loved everything. Definitely check out the shops reviews too. Check out my sister’s Etsy shop, Ali Art, for cute invitations and other digital paper goods! You can see the adorable baby shower invites and games she designed for my shower she hosted.

Happy Shopping everyone! May you score great deals this Cyber Monday!
